Full job description (from employer)⌄

We are currently supporting an established organisation in the property and construction sector that is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen its commercial team. This is a permanent opportunity based in Bristol and would suit an experienced Senior QS, or a Quantity Surveyor ready to take the next step into a more senior position. The successful candidate will have a key role in supporting the commercial delivery of a major refurbishment programme, working closely with operational teams, clients and supply chain partners. The role will support a substantial refurbishment programme across several large residential buildings, incorporating a range of specialist works. Given the scale and complexity of the programme, the position offers significant commercial responsibility, with the successful candidate taking ownership of key financial, contractual, and commercial activities throughout delivery. Key responsibilities: Take ownership of the commercial performance of the project, ensuring costs, revenue and contractual opportunities are effectively managed. Lead on forecasting, cost control, financial reporting and cash flow management. Manage contractual matters, including change, risk, commercial negotiations and potential disputes. Work closely with project teams to monitor performance and support effective commercial decision-making. Manage subcontractor and supply chain relationships, including procurement and commercial negotiations. Identify commercial risks and opportunities at an early stage and implement appropriate actions. Contribute to the development of the wider commercial function and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Qualifications & Experience: Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor. Experience within refurbishment, housing, property services or construction. Strong commercial and contractual knowledge. Experience managing project costs, forecasting and financial reporting. Good negotiation and communication skills. Strong Excel and general IT capabilities. The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with wider project teams. A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel when required.Experience of working on large-scale residential refurbishment programmes would be advantageous, although applications from strong commercial professionals with transferable sector experience will also be considered.
