We're recruiting Senior Residential Support Workers for children's residential homes across Oxfordshire, supporting young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs. This opportunity would suit someone who understands the importance of consistency, positive relationships and calm leadership, and who enjoys supporting colleagues as much as the young people in their care. About the Role: As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you'll play an important part in the day-to-day running of the home, working alongside the wider team to create a safe, nurturing and structured environment. Your responsibilities will include: • Supporting young people with complex needs through relationship-based, child-centred care • Providing guidance and encouragement to Residential Support Workers • Supporting the management team with daily routines, safeguarding and care planning • Helping young people develop emotional regulation, independence and life skills • Contributing to positive team communication, handovers and reflective practice • Promoting consistency and stability within the home What Makes This Opportunity Different: This is an opportunity to use your existing residential childcare experience in a role where your judgement, communication and ability to support others really matter. Senior Support Workers play a valuable part in maintaining a stable home environment. The focus is on working collaboratively, building positive relationships and helping the team respond thoughtfully to young people's individual needs. It's also a natural next step for someone who enjoys mentoring colleagues and wants to build on their leadership experience. About You: We're looking for someone who brings both practical experience and a genuine understanding of children's residential care. Essential Requirements: • Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Children's Residential Care, or equivalent • Current or recent experience working within children's residential homes • Experience supporting young people with complex or challenging needs • Good understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries • Confidence supporting colleagues and contributing to daily team leadership Desirable: • Full UK driving licence You'll be someone who remains calm when situations become difficult, communicates clearly and recognises the importance of working together to achieve positive outcomes. Why Join? • £34,840 annual salary, including sleep-in payments • Opportunities across OX3, OX5 and OX12 • A senior role where your residential childcare experience is valued • Opportunity to develop your leadership and mentoring skills • Meaningful work supporting young people to build confidence, stability and independence How to Apply: If you're an experienced Residential Childcare Worker considering your next step, we'd welcome a conversation about the opportunities available.
