Job Title: Functional Skills Maths Tutor Location: Liverpool Hours: 5-15 hours per week Start Date: October 2026 Duration: Ongoing About the Role Prospero Teaching is looking for a patient and engaging Functional Skills Maths Tutor to support learners in developing practical numeracy skills and working towards their qualifications. The role will involve delivering personalised sessions at an appropriate level, helping learners overcome difficulties with Maths and preparing them for Functional Skills assessments. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver individualised Functional Skills Maths tuition - Support learners with number operations, fractions, percentages, measurements and problem-solving - Prepare learners for assessments and qualifications - Identify learning gaps and adapt sessions accordingly - Track progress and encourage independent learning Experience, Training and Qualifications: - Relevant teaching qualification, QTS or PGCE desirable - Strong Maths knowledge, including Functional Skills levels - Previous tutoring, teaching or relevant educational experience - Ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and patiently - Experience supporting learners with additional educational needs is beneficial Essential Requirements: - Right to work in the UK - Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain the required clearance - Two professional references Prospero Teaching is acting as an employment business and education recruitment agency in relation to this vacancy
