What's on offer
Full job description (from employer)⌄
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum equivalent Location: Nottingham Contract: Temporary Working pattern: Hybrid – 2 days per week in the office (Tuesday & Wednesday) Hours: 37.25 hours per week SF Partners are recruiting for an SAP GRIR Analyst to join an established finance team in Nottingham on a temporary basis. This role is ideally suited to someone with hands-on experience clearing historic GRIR balances following an SAP implementation or ERP migration. You'll need to understand how GRIR balances transfer between systems, how to investigate legacy open items and how to resolve discrepancies correctly from both an operational and accounting perspective. Working across the UK and Ireland, you'll take ownership of aged and unmatched transactions, partnering with Accounts Payable, Procurement, Supply Chain and Finance teams to investigate issues, reconcile balances and drive items through to resolution. The role will include: Reviewing and clearing historic GRIR balances migrated from a legacy ERP system into SAP. Investigating legacy purchase orders, goods receipts and supplier invoices to establish why balances remain outstanding. Understanding how GRIR balances originated in the previous system and how they were transferred into SAP. Identifying migration-related discrepancies, data issues and unmatched transactions, determining the appropriate action to resolve them. Reconciling GRIR accounts and ensuring balances are accurate, supported and cleared wherever possible. Applying a strong understanding of the accounting behind goods receipting, invoice posting, inventory and the resulting General Ledger entries. Using SAP to investigate GRIR exceptions, trace transactions and identify the appropriate clearing or correction process. Working closely with Accounts Payable, Procurement and other stakeholders to resolve outstanding items and challenge discrepancies where necessary. Managing current GRIR activity alongside the historic backlog to prevent further ageing. Supporting balance sheet reconciliations, journal postings and month-end close activities. Analysing recurring issues and identifying opportunities to improve the accuracy and efficiency of GRIR processes. About you: Direct, hands-on experience investigating and clearing GRIR balances, ideally following an SAP implementation or ERP migration. A strong understanding of the end-to-end GRIR process, from purchase order creation and goods receipting through to supplier invoicing and accounting clearance. Experience working with legacy GRIR balances and understanding why items may remain open following a system migration. Practical SAP experience, ideally SAP S/4HANA or SAP ECC, with the ability to navigate transactions and reports to investigate and resolve issues. A sound understanding of the accounting entries generated by goods receipts and supplier invoices, including the impact on inventory, GRIR and the General Ledger. Experience with balance sheet reconciliations and investigating aged or unmatched transactions. Strong analytical skills and the ability to trace discrepancies back to their root cause. Confidence challenging incorrect information, identifying the appropriate corrective action and working with other teams to resolve issues. Strong Excel skills and the ability to work through large volumes of transactional data. A methodical approach, excellent attention to detail and the ability to take ownership of outstanding balances. Experience of the SAP implementation or migration itself would be particularly advantageous, especially where you have been directly involved in reviewing, validating or clearing balances transferred from a legacy system. Interested? If you have hands-on SAP GRIR experience and can demonstrate how you've investigated and cleared historic or migrated balances, we'd be keen to hear from you.
