The Role As the Engineering Estimator, you will assist in the quotation process from initial enquiry through to final quotation. Working closely with Sales, Engineering and Manufacturing, you will assess technical requirements, determine the most efficient manufacturing route, calculate costs and produce accurate quotations within customer deadlines. This is a varied role where no two enquiries are the same, requiring excellent technical understanding, commercial awareness and strong organisational skills. Responsibilities Manage the quotation process from enquiry through to customer submission. Review technical drawings and specifications to determine manufacturing requirements. Assess project feasibility and identify the most efficient production methods. Produce accurate cost estimates based on materials, manufacturing processes and lead times. Liaise with Engineering, Production, Purchasing and Sales to obtain technical and commercial information. Source material pricing and compare previous manufacturing data where appropriate. Prepare clear, accurate and competitive quotations within agreed timescales. Maintain quotation records using the company's CRM system. Prioritise multiple enquiries while meeting customer deadlines. Support continuous improvement of estimating processes and commercial activities. Work closely with the Sales team to develop competitive pricing strategies. The Candidate Experience within an estimating role Background within manufacturing Ability to read and understand engineering drawings. Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving skills. Excellent Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across multiple departments. High levels of accuracy and attention to detail. A proactive and methodical approach to work.
