Full job description (from employer)⌄

Keeping quality approvals in place is only part of this role. At a Sheffield manufacturer of nickel based alloy and stainless steel forgings and rolled rings, you'll also help turn audit findings and quality data into practical improvements. You'll take responsibility for audits, investigations and corrective actions, supporting consistent quality practices across operations supplying Oil & Gas, Energy, Engineering, Aerospace and Defence markets. Reporting directly to the Group Quality Manager, you'll help maintain ISO9001, AS9100 and AS9120 approvals and support future accreditations. The business sits within a six-company steel and engineering group, so your work will extend beyond site-level systems to projects that bring greater consistency to quality procedures across the group. You'll have additional day to day support at the employing site and work with technical colleagues to investigate non-conformances. The remit combines management systems with practical quality support, including supplier onboarding, calibration and workforce training. It offers breadth for an experienced Quality Engineer who wants to connect compliance, problem-solving and improvement rather than concentrate on one part of the quality function. Key Responsibilities Conduct scheduled internal audits and external audits as required, producing detailed reports and raising non-conformances and corrective or preventive actions where needed. Maintain the non-conformance system, working with the technical department to establish root causes and implement effective corrective actions using structured problem-solving methods. Keep quality procedures and work instructions current, and analyse quality data to support continuous improvement projects across systems and processes. Provide quality support during supplier onboarding and maintain the calibration system as part of the site's day-to-day quality controls. Manage the training system, deliver new-starter inductions and undertake internal training with existing colleagues to support consistent working practices. What We're Looking For You have Quality Engineer or similar experience, knowledge of ISO9001, AS9100 and AS9120, and experience conducting both internal and external audits. You have practical problem-solving experience using 5 Why, Ishikawa and 8D, with the attention to detail needed to investigate non-conformances thoroughly. You communicate clearly, build relationships at all levels and use Word and Excel to produce procedures, reports, graphs and presentations. You hold GCSEs or A levels including English, Mathematics and Science, and bring a flexible, professional approach and willingness to learn. Steel or engineering experience and NADCAP knowledge are desirable rather than essential; quality management and internal auditing qualifications would also be useful.Package The role is based in Sheffield. This is a full time, office based position. On site parking is available. Salary of £35k - £45k Holiday entitlement increases with longer service to up to 28 days plus statutory holidays.Shillito Group is a specialist recruitment and executive search partner, working with ambitious businesses to secure high-impact talent across commercial and engineering markets. Our reputation is built on deep expertise, trusted relationships and delivering results that go beyond the brief
